In their new town, gossip spreads about a romance between Liz and student Dan. Art finally hears the rumours and angrily confronts Dan and Liz; the gossip was all started by several jealous people. Art apologises and reconciles with his wife.

Comic Story (9 pages) I Stole My Sister's Man
Synopsis: Nancy was raised by her older sister Sue after their parents are killed. Home from college on vacation, Nancy meets Sue’s boyfriend Jim and sets her cap for him: "I want that man, he’s just my type!” When her efforts to romance him fail, Nancy lies and tells Sue that Jim made a pass at her. Sue, upset, runs outside and is struck by a car. Sue is blinded and Nancy offers to donate one of her corneas. However, before the operation begins, a doctor discovers Sue’s eyesight can be saved. A repentant Nancy can now find romance with her longtime admirer Bob.

Synopsis: Abby’s mother raises her daughter to become a star as a way to escape poverty. Abby goes along with the program, but she doesn’t dislike the residents of their slum neighbourhood as her mother does. Abby falls in love with bus driver Jed. Abby’s mother insists Abby accept in a role in a musical and Jed breaks up with her. Abby is a success but hates her life; she runs away. Her mother tracks her down and compels her to return to the stage, but Abby breaks her ankle and can no longer perform. Abby and Jed are reunited and Abby’s mother apologises for her dominating ways.

Lon is cleared of wrongdoing and he and Jean can wed.

Comic Story (9 pages) I Was a Heart-Breaker
Synopsis: Hilda steals Mac from his girlfriend Marianne, although she doesn’t really love him. Marianne commits suicide as a result. Hilda falls in love with Roger and they decide to get married, but Mac shows up and reveals Hilda’s past. Roger doesn’t believe Hilda really loves him and dumps her. A depressed Hilda quits her job--“I’m no good to you or even myself”--and plans to kill herself by jumping into the river, but Roger shows up and they reconcile.
