Synopsis: Micmac life is shaped by spiritual beliefs. Deaf Nolmi kills a white owl, a sin. Lame Mah-Leet defends him. Nolmi offends another tribe. This means war! Nolmi offers his life for the injury to their chief; he paddles, Mah-leet jumps in the water, Nolmi saves her. Blackfish flee to the shallow of the river where Nolmi drives them ashore. The bandaged Passamaquoddy chief receives them as a gift, and rewards Nolmi with gifts. Peace and love. Nolmi: "For truly the blackfish have brought back my ‘medicine' that the white owl took away."
