Synopsis:	Eve loved Tony but he married Gwynne instead, and they had a child, Jamie. Tony is killed in an accident and Gwynne is hospitalised with grief, so Eve volunteers to care for the boy. She schemes to steal his affection and later offers to adopt him, after she marries Larry. Gwynne has a heart attack when Eve explains her plan, but Larry overhears and breaks up with her. Eve apologizes to Gwynne and Larry forgives her as well.

Sonia’s Russian parents were killed by Nazis during World War II and she becomes a dedicated Communist Party member and bureaucrat. She meets American diplomat Bob and her superiors urge her to cultivate a friendship. Sonia falls in love with Bob but is informed that he’s a married man, so she breaks up with him, only to later learn he’s a widower. At a conference in Geneva, Sonia reconciles with Bob and defects to the USA.

Synopsis:	Julie is a vocalist in her boyfriend Bill’s band, but is tired of their small-time existence. When agent Ted offers her a job with Dick Hanley’s band, Julie quits, although Bill warns her she’s “not big-time!” Julie doesn’t get the job and Ted turns out to be a wolf. Time passes and Julie is singing in a “third-rate club.” When she meets Bill, she lies and says she’s a success, but he rescues her from a pushy club patron and they reconcile.
