There's something about this comic that makes me wonder whether Harvey Kurtzman saw it (in 1948) and thought to himself "I'll bet I could do better than this!" But there are elements present here (such as the eyeball kicks on the front cover art) that remind me of the later Kurtzman MAD. I have no evidence to back this notion up, but perhaps someone else does. |
