Comic Story (8 pages) Too Smart for Love
Synopsis: Raised in an Oregon lumber camp, Jeanie is sent back east to spend time with her aunt and uncle. She and Leo fall in love: he thinks she's "sweet and simple and unspoiled!" Jeanie is well-educated, however, and shows off by correcting Leo's errors. Leo stops calling and her uncle says "No man wants to think a woman knows more than he does!" When she meets Ken, Jeanie plays dumb but can't stand it. She confesses all to Ken and he says "No man could really be happy with a woman who wasn't his intellectual equal!" Meanwhile, Leo marries "one of the dumbest girls in town!"

However, she and Brand do get married, move away, and live happily ever after.

Synopsis: Heiress Althea thinks she loves Wilbur, but learns he's a fortune hunter who's been two-timing her with her maid. Althea runs away and tells cabbie Chris that she's poor and on the run. He lets her stay in his apartment while he works. The next day her lawyers show up and say Chris answered an ad about the whereabouts of the "missing" heiress; Chris returns the reward money, thinking her pose was a joke. Althea tracks down Chris and says she'll donate her fortune to charity, so they can be married.

Synopsis: Faith marries rancher Bruce. She gets a letter from her sister Pamela, who says she's also married, to wealthy Travis. Faith discovers life on Bruce's ranch is difficult and decides to return to the city. However, Pamela and Travis arrive for a visit; Pamela confesses that her husband is unfaithful and she's unhappy. When cattle get into the orchard, Faith realizes she cares about her husband and her ranch, and she rushes to help. Pamela "has a mink coat and big diamond, but she really doesn't have love!"
