Too Many Boy Friends
High school student Carol has three boyfriends: football player Tom who wants to go steady with her, practical joker Dick, and shy Harry. Distracted by studying, she agrees to go the prom with each of them, and asks Doris Bigelow for advice. Doris proposes a contest for readers to vote to determine Carol's date.
Alice is envious of other high school students whose parents are not as boring as hers. She meets circus magician Campo, who puts her in his act in a skimpy costume. Alice thinks Campo loves her, but her reputation in town suffers because of their relationship. She decides to run away with the magician, but he explains he hires a local girl in every town, and Alice means nothing to him. Alice goes home with her parents and things improve between them.
Nancy begins a correspondence with Andre, a French student who's coming to study in the USA. When Andre arrives, Nancy compares him with her "rough and crude" boyfriend Gordon. Nancy breaks up with Gordon then discovers Andre is engaged to a girl back home. Nancy and Gordon reconcile.
Linda makes friends with "homely bore" Cliff , who paints a portrait of her. However, peer pressure from her friends and family causes her to stop seeing him. Cliff wins a scholarship with his painting of Linda and she comes back to him. He thinks she's only interested because he's now successful, but she admits she loves him. They clinch.
