Synopsis: Newspaper photographer Lorna threatens to ruin the reputation of Ted’s skating rink unless he sells out to her boss Bill Brown. The paper publishes a photo of Ted kissing his fiancée Carol and claims the rink is an unwholesome place for teens. Ted secretly tape records Brown making his threats and blackmails him into apologising and even supporting Ted’s business.

They begin to date and Susan dumps Jeff. However, when Susan suffers a delayed reaction from the crash, Tony says “I don’t want a cripple on my hands!” and she breaks up with him. Jeff returns and offers to marry Susan right away, but she is now happy to wait until he graduates.

However, Ted explains he does love Peggy and urges her to return to school so they can have a better life together. She agrees.
