Kathie decides to help Walt around the office, then passes on an idea of Pat's to Walt that turns his business around. When Pat invites Walt to dinner to "make up", Kathie can't resist telling Walt that Pat's a liar and a cheat and that she has fallen in love with him.

Trying to please her, Peter took Judy to a dance but left when he found the music too loud. At first Judy stays but when she realizes that Peter is "the one" she runs after him.

Jean goes to the newspaper office to have a stern talk with Medford but finds him charming and accepts a date with him. Romance blossoms until Jean discovers Medford's dishonest reporting and breaks up with him. Medford threatens to run a smear campaign against her father unless she returns to him but the mayor is reelected. Medford attempts to apologize to Jean but she turns him down, choosing honor over love.
