Floyd returned from war sightless. His dog, Pandhandler, a big mongrel terrier, didn't understand. Loomis, from "Seeing Eye" comes by with an offer of a free guide dog, but Floyd wants Panhandler. Loomis agrees to take the dog for training. Later, Floyd also comes in for training with Pat, a trained dog. He completes his training, but is told Panhandler failed, and would he take Pat? No, he won't. He puts Panhandler on his leash, and the dog negotiates him through busy traffic perfectly. Homesickness was the only problem. |
