Synopsis: Anne's mother is a snob and prevents her from associating with the "lower classes," including Steve. Steve goes off to war and Anne goes off to college. When they come back to town, Anne's mother tries to keep them apart, preferring lawyer Mark as a potential mate for her daughter. Anne is engaged to Mark but kisses Steve at a party. Afterwards, she becomes lost in the snow and Steve rescues her. Anne breaks her engagement and learns Steve has pneumonia; she nurses him back to health and they will wed.

Synopsis: Melinda is spoiled and wealthy. After an argument with her equally rich boyfriend Rod, she enlists in the Army out of spite. She's sent overseas and ordered to construct a rec hall for soldiers. Reluctant at first, she soon pitches in, thanks to the influence of handsome sergeant Hank and her friend Jane. Melinda and Hank fall in love. When she can't get supplies for a base party, Melinda cables Rod and he sends the food. This makes Hank angry. Melinda forges orders so Hank will report to the chaplain's office and they are married.

Linda becomes successful and returns to America, where Tom is now engaged to Sherry. Linda paints Sherry's portrait and meets Tom, whom she apologizes for running away from him, and he says he still loves her. They will be married.

Synopsis: Marilee is an unsuccessful writer who gets an idea to write an "anti-love" book. Struggling publisher Jay agrees to finance her "research," as she dates various men. Jay is upset by her callous attitude about love and Marilee takes the book to another publisher, but realizes her heart isn't in it anymore. She loves Jay, so she changes the title of her book to "Love is NOT the Bunk," and sends him the manuscript. The book is a hit and Jay and Marilee get together at last.

Toni learns Matt's running a crooked gambling operation on the side and hopes to snare rich cattleman Steve by using Toni as the bait. Toni and Steve fall in love. Steve helps expose the gambling and he and Toni will be married.
