Synopsis: |
Janie's mother Lillian pushes her to become a performer, denying her daughter a normal childhood full of fun and social activities. Learning Janie's former high school classmate Glen is now a TV producer, Lillian encourages a romance between the two young people, then pressures Glen into giving Janie a spot on his program. Janie is a flop, as Glen knew she would be, but that's fine with both of them: now Janie can "retire" to become Glen's wife. |

Synopsis: |
Young soldier Johnny gets a letter from his hometown sweetheart Leila, who says she's dating someone else. Johnny can only get a 3-day pass, which doesn't give him enough time to go home: he decides to go AWOL to see Leila. He gets stuck in a small town when he misses a train, and spends the whole day with sympathetic Red Cross hostess June. At the end of the day, Johnny decides to return to camp. June kisses him and promises to write. |
