I'd have to say that the Kinks Mason story reads as if the artist drew it from a synopsis, but the writer either didn't have access to the original synopsis or had totally forgotten the story by the time he received the finished art, and made it up as he went along, in many cases simply ignoring pages that could have used a caption or two, or even a bit of dialog. Or maybe the finished story was originally 24 pages long, and they only used only every third page... |

Big Red was one my favorite Fletcher Hanks characters. I wondered while reading if Hanks had worked as a lumberjack before being a comic artist. |
