Fred is crude, unfaithful and drinks too much, but Anne is obsessed with him. When Martin shows Anne that he can be a caveman-style lover as well, Anne dumps Fred.

Lila dates fellow worker Barry and is offended and hurt when he helps Terry with her ice skating routine. Barry, tired of her self-pity and refusing to be guilt-tripped anymore, breaks up with Lila. Lila realizes she didn’t think of how her sensitivity made others feel. She apologizes to Barry and they reconcile.
