||Carol writes a note to her husband Bill: she’s leaving him for Norman, a man she met in “a small dramatic group.” Norman has no intention of marrying her and advises Carol to go back to Bill. Newsstand proprietor Mary tells Carol about her own marriage to Mike, whose husband left her for another woman. Mary waited and Mike eventually came back. Carol goes home to Bill, but he hasn’t even seen the note. Carol confesses all. They both go to thank Mary, who admits she lied about her own marriage, for Carol’s sake.
