Comic Story (8 pages) I Was the Wholesome Type
Synopsis: Penny is overshadowed in high school by her more glamorous sister Gail. Bob prefers Gail but she doesn’t believe him. Penny substitutes a photo of herself for Gail in a contest entry and Gail loses as a result: but this prevents her from eloping with Greg and going to Hollywood, so it’s a good thing. Bob figures it out and says he loves Penny as she is.

Comic Story (8 pages) I Must Forget Eileen
Synopsis: Pilots Steve and Bart compete for the affections of air hostess Eileen. She chooses Bart but Steve—suffering from an old war wound—goes insane and says he’ll kill them both. After a struggle in which Steve is killed, Bart flees to Brazil and takes a dangerous job with a small company. He’s asked to fly a doctor to the scene of an airliner crash and discovers Eileen is there. She says Steve didn’t die, and is recovering in a sanatorium. Bart and Eileen reconcile.

Comic Story (6 pages) Do You Think You Own Me?
Synopsis: Vin breaks up with Kitty because she is too controlling. He goes to see Sally, an old girlfriend now working as a doctor’s receptionist. She’s engaged to someone else and when Vin complains about Kitty’s possessiveness, Sally says all women are that way but they don’t all show it. Vin realises he loves Kitty: he goes home and they decide to elope.

Synopsis: Elaine is bored with her small-town life and small-town boyfriend Larry. She falls in love with newcomer Brad, but she discovers Brad is a reporter who tracked down her father and now uses Elaine’s information to write a story about a 15-year-old scandal. Although Dr. Warren was cleared of wrongdoing then, the townspeople criticise the doctor until Brad stands up and defends him. Elaine realises Larry is the man for her.

When the son of Martin’s old friends is hit by a car driven by gangster Big Tim, Lynn sees that poor people need legal representation as well as the rich. Martin wins the case and asks Lynn to change jobs: she’ll be his wife instead of his secretary.

Frank finally admits he heard of Joan’s reputation and wanted to give her a taste of her own medicine. Joan and Frank will be married.
