Synopsis: “I wanted security...I wanted a home of my own...and the price I had to pay was marriage!” Ada and Steve get married and move into a house where Ada plunges “into a frenzy of cleaning, decorating, cooking, sewing...” to “show Steve he had married an ideal homemaker.” However, Steve never feels comfortable in the house and Ada’s constant housework leaves her too tired to respond to Steve’s romantic advances. He moves out, but when Ada learns she’s pregnant, they reconcile and vow to have a happy marriage.
