||Fran is engaged to writer Jim, but is in no hurry to get married, wanting to try an acting career first. She winds up singing, scantily-clad, in a New York cabaret. Jim finds her but she insists her career is doing well, introducing a stranger as her "agent." The stranger is Nick Ferranti and he hires her to sing in his club. Fran falls for Nick but he kills a man in a gambling dispute and is sent to prison. Fran is hired by a big producer for a Broadway play--arranged by her faithful ex-boyfriend Jim. Fran agrees to marry Jim.
