Argo was a short lived publication venture that was created to publish comic books featuring newspaper characters that none of the larger comic companies were interested in.
Much of their output consisted of comics based on such newspaper soap opera characters as Merry Worth, Rex Morgan MD, and Judge Parker.

Ross Andru and Mike Esposito. The long time team tried going it alone but it didn't last. They would move on to work for DC.
GCD info: Founded in c1938 as the publishing arm of the Young Communist League.
In 1944, when the YCL disbanded, and the American Youth for Democracy founded, the New Age Publishers, Inc became affiliated with that organization.
New Age Publishers, Inc is known to have published non-comics magazines, pamphlets, etc from 1943 to 1946.
There is a possibility that New Age Publishers, Inc published some of these comics as a surrogate for Lev Gleason during the WW2 paper restrictions.

An American publisher who opted for printing its comics in Canada; However, they were compiled in USA, with American advertisements & were destined for the US market (distributed by Kable News); The editorial address was 30 Rockefeller Plaza, NYC, which was also used by another comic book publisher, D.S. Publishing Co. (1948-1950); no further connection is known at this time.
