Synopsis:	Failed actress Lila turns down a marriage proposal from restaurant owner Jack. She takes a job as a governess to Penny Lloyd, daughter of wealthy widow Alicia, hoping to meet a rich husband. Lila sets her sights on Wayne, who’s interested in Alicia, using her Broadway friend Sam to distract Alicia. Alicia is distraught when she sees Wayne kissing Lila, and tries to commit suicide. Alicia survives and reconciles with Wayne. Lila sees the error of her ways and returns to Broadway, possibly to marry Jack.

When they get back to civilization, Jean and Jeff reconcile.

He reluctantly agrees, but when Bob saves Martha’s mother from a medical emergency, she sees the value of practicing medicine in a community and agrees to marry him and stay in their town.
