Synopsis:	After her mother's death, Denys went to live with Mrs. Rudeman and her businessman son Mark. Denys is expected to marry Mark soon. Working at a Red Cross canteen for servicemen, Denys meets and falls in love with soldier Tim. Tim learns of her engagement but she says Mark needs her and she owes his family; Tim urges her to tell the Rudemans the truth. Denys overhears Mark and his mother discussing ways for him to avoid the draft. This frees her of her obligation to them, and she is reunited with Tim.

Irma suggests Jeannie is jealous of them and Mike refuses to support his wife's arguments. Jeannie is preparing to leave when Mike's niece Gwen says her mother is planning to marry Mike when he divorces Jeannie. Mike overhears: Irma and her children will move to their own house, and he and Jeannie will be alone at last.

Fleeing from a lecherous truck driver, Leah is hit by a car. In the hospital, Jud says "I know now life shouldn't be all work!" and Leah says she'll be a better wife too.

Synopsis:	Nelia works as rich Mr. Crawford's private secretary; his son Alton Jr. proposes marriage to her, although she's engaged to law student Dave. Beset by doubts, Nelia asks Dave to marry her right away, and he agrees. Nelia discovers Mr. Crawford has just died and left her half his fortune, assuming she'd marry Alton Jr. Dave is suspicious, but Mr. Crawford's lawyer explains: his client knew his son was a wastrel, and hoped Nelia would straighten him out. But in any case, he wanted Nelia to inherit. Nelia and Dave will donate the money to charity.
