Of course this version ought to be replaced by a better one in the future. But before you may grumble about the sub-par quality of this version let me give a birthday rant. DCM users are being pampered with high-resolution printable (!) scans. That has not always been the case. If you look back to older scans, you’ll find a lot of low-res, darkened, hazy, off-square, and badly cut efforts. Technique and skills are improving, but to bring you the best scans we NEED your contribution. I’ve hunted down, bought, loaned, scanned and uploaded 110 pre-code horror books – and will be giving you some more. But I’m working from Germany. I am not at the source of things. So, all you US-American based users, please consider sharing your books. Especially if they are of a poorer quality. Modern scanning technique will not destroy them, but preserve them nicely for posterity. DCM staffers will gladly help you out with editing, uploading – even scanning. Trusted personnel is standing by worldwide to digitalize your lovable comic books. Just drop us a line. If you wanna see the best scans and missing books, you might wanna HELP US OUT. Thank you for listening. |
