Synopsis:	Lynn is engaged to Don but he’s killed in the war. She vows never to date a soldier again. She becomes Bill’s private secretary; he proposes to her but she can’t decide. Lynn then falls in love with Bill’s brother Tony, unaware that he’s an Army pilot. When she finds out, she decides to marry Bill instead, but he knows she doesn’t love him. Bill says Lynn has to conquer her fear if she loves Tony. She does, and they wed.

When her former beau Tom arrives, Ruth finds herself wishing she’d married him. Tom urges her to leave John and run away with him, and she finally agrees. However, the Dean takes Ruth to a ceremony where John receives an award for his teaching: John thanks Ruth for her support, so she decides to stay with him.

Synopsis:	Leslie’s wealthy father wants her to marry boring businessman Walter. Leslie runs away and gets a job with Tom’s one-man trucking company, which she puts on a paying basis, even driving a truck herself in an emergency. Leslie and Tom fall in love but he says they’re too poor to marry. Leslie’s father tries to put Tom out of business but Tom stands up to him. This impresses the older man, who gives his consent for Tom to marry Leslie.
