Faith shows up later because she needs more money for her sick father, and Bill learns the truth. He breaks up with Carol. Carol sells her wedding trousseau and gives the money to Faith. When Bill finds out, he asks Carol to marry him and she agrees.

She becomes popular with customers but is lonely. Ella is distracted by a man staring at her intently as she works, loses her skill, and is fired. She discovers Maurice is the man who spooked her. Her antics cause him to be fired as well. They admit they love each other and open a pancake restaurant together.
